  1. Complete a set of application documents. A studio portrait 3 cm by 2.5 cm must be attached.

    * To enable the Account Department to identify the payment on receipt, please make sure that the applicant’s name is quoted by the issuing bank, and then attach the proof of payment with your entry form.
    * In case the number of international applicants is more than 7, Pre-Regional Qualifying Tournament will be conducted. In that case the entry fee of \52,500 will be required to hold the event. Players will be contacted if the Pre-Regional Qualifying Tournament needs to be conducted.
    * Once any fee regarding the entry has been paid, no refunds will be provided, except when you become an eligible player to play in the 2010 PGA Senior Tour and do not need to participate in qualifying tournament.

ENTRY DEADLINE

Completely executed entry applications and required documents must reach the PGA of Japan by Friday, February 19, 2010 without exception.


NOTICE
  1. The applicant must be a male professional golfer and be at least 50 years of age, or turn 50 on or before the first day of our last senior tournament of the year to play the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour.
  2. Players who plan to participate in one or more than one of the Japan Senior Tournaments except Japan Senior Open Golf Championship are required to register.
  3. Applicants who are 49 years of age are allowed to apply for the Qualifying Tournament, however, even though those ones turned out to be the leading players, they cannot participate in any event until they turn 50 years of age. In case such a player turns 50 on the first day of the tournament, the player is able to participate in the tournament.
  4. All PGA of Japan members MUST make delivery for membership fees for 2009 to register.
  5. Applicants must have adequate insurance prior to participating in Qualifying Tournament and any event on the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Schedule.
  6. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant. The PGA of Japan will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences there from, including rejection of the entry.
  7. Entries by telephone are not acceptable.
  8. Once any fee regarding the entry has been paid, no refunds will be provided, except when you become an eligible player to play in the 2010 PGA Senior Tour and do not need to participate in qualifying tournament.
  9. Driving Clubs: The driver the competitor carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by R&A Rules Limited. Any individual driver on the List, if tested on pendulum testing apparatus approved by R&A Rules Limited, must not have a characteristic time greater than 257 microseconds.

    Note: Any driver which was made and sold by December 31,1998 is allowed to use even though it is not on the List.
  10. PGA of Japan will be using the new R&A condition of competition relating new groove specifications starting in 2010 on the PGA Senior Tour. But we won’t be using it in 2010 at our Senior Tour QT, Senior Supported Events and Senior Special Sanctioned Events.

★PGA of Japan Senior Tour has Guideline for the PGA Senior Tour Player as of September 4 ,2007. We would ask your understanding and cooperation to join charitable events to entertain the gallery and participating in awards ceremony and farewell party if there is such an event on-site. Please have a lead through this information the last page of parts.

Eligibility for Entry

The Eligibility has changed with revising the regulation of 5-8-6 from 2010 as below. 

  1. The players in positions 1-30 from the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Order of Merit for 2009.
  2. The top 10 entrants from the All Time Career Money List at the end of the 2009.
  3. Past winners of the Japan PGA Senior Championship, the Japan Senior Open Golf Championship and the PGA Philanthropy Senior Tournament for a 3 year period From the following year of the victory.
  4. Past winners of the PGA of Japan Senior Tour Order of Merit for a 3 year period from the following year.
  5. Past winners of professional tournaments which are, or have been, part of the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour for a 24 month period from the following week of the victory.
  6. Past winners of any professional tournaments which are, or have been, part of the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour are eligible for the very tournament for a 5 year period.

  7. Sponsors invitations

    *These invitations to a maximum of 6 when the field is less than 60 professionals, and 10 when the field is over 60 professionals.
  8. The winner from the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Qualifying Tournament
  9. Players who have won any official tournaments which are, or have been, part of the Japan Golf Tour for one year after turning 50 years of age.
  10. Special exemptions selected by the PGA of Japan Senior Committee
  11. 11th -20th place players from the All Time Career Money List
  12. The top 10 entrants from the last year’s very tournament
  13. The leading players from the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Qualifying Tournament

IMPORTANT NOTICE
  1. Please make note that players who are eligible to play or the leading from senior tour QT may not entry in case; because it is subject to differ to regulation in each tournament. Meanwhile, it will be the condition of to play at the Pro-Am competition in Senior Supported Events and Senior Special Sanctioned Events
  2. For your reference, please be notified how to allot a field size to each category. The following is an example and it is subject to differ to each tournament this year.

    The field sizes which were allotted to category 13 (to the leading players from the 2009 Qualifying Tournament,) last year were as follows:

    Fancl Classic-31, Komatsu Open-23, PGA Senior Championship-115,
    Fujifilm Senior Championship-22, Handa Cup PPT-64

    Each tournament field size is subject to change.
    As for the Japan Senior Open, the Japan Golf Association is the host organization and they set their own qualifying tournament for the Open. Not apply for PGA of Japan Senior Tour Ranking.

  3. One specific player is allowed to participate in up to 30% of the 2010 PGA Senior Tour Tournaments through category 7. As for former winners of the Japan PGA Championship and the Japan Open Championship, there is no such a limit.
  4. Qualifying tournament (Monday Tournament) to select sponsors invitations will be conducted in the following PGA Senior Tour Tournaments. If player get through the qualifying round and participate in the tournament, it will count as the sponsers invitations.

  5. Total cards issued to category 7 are to a maximum of 10 when the field size is 60 and over and to a maximum of 6 when the filed size is less than 60.

Eligibility

Male professional golfers who are 50 years of age on or by the first day of our last senior tournament of the year are eligible for entry. As for 2010, applicants must be 50 years of age on or by the first day of the last tournament of PGA of Japan Seniors Tour.

Rules

Play shall be governed in accordance with the rules of the Japan Golf Associations (JGA), the PGA of Japan conditions of competition and Local Rules.

Driving Clubs: The driver the competitor carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by R&A Rules Limited. Any individual driver on the List, if tested on pendulum testing apparatus approved by R&A Rules Limited, must not have a characteristic time greater than 257 microseconds.


Regional Qualifying Tournament
Eligibility
  1. Members who joined the PGA of Japan by 1984.
  2. Tournament player (TP) members who joined the PGA of Japan after 1985..
  3. 30 Teaching Professional (TCP) members who joined the PGA of Japan after 1985.
    (Pre-Regional Qualifying Tournament will be conducted in the event that these applicants exceed 30 players)
  4. Overseas PGA members for only tournament player, to a maximum of six.
    Pre-Regional Qualifying Tournament will be conducted in case that more than 7 international players apply.

    Format: 18-holes of stroke play
    If there is a tie, the count back method shall be used from 18-holes. In the event that there is still a tie, the order will be determined by drawing lots.

It will be available for international players due to consideration of pre-qualifying tournament which may be held on the day of practice round.

Format

36-holes of stroke play (18-holes per day)

  1. If, in the judgment of the on-site PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Tournament Director, adverse weather conditions or any other occurrence or condition renders commencement or continuation of tournament play inadvisable, there is a case that play shall be postponed or shortened to 27-holes or 18-holes.

  2. The PGA of Japan method shall be used to determine a top player if there is a tie.

Successful Applicants

100 players (plan)
The number of players to advance from each Regional Qualifying Tournament site to the Final will be fixed on a average percentage from each Regional Qualifying Tournament site determined.

Allocation of the Sites

In principle, applicants will be allotted to three sites on a first-come-first-served basis in order to average the number of contestants in each site. Therefore, players will not be necessarily allotted to sites they wish. If any choices are not made on the application form, it is regarded that no choice of sites was made. Notification of assignment to Regional Site(s) will be sent after the entry deadline.

  1. 31st -50th place players from the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour Order of Merit for 2009.
  2. The leading players from three Regional Qualifying sites.
  3. Special exemptions selected by the PGA of Japan Senior Committee.

Alternates for the Final Qualifying Tournament

No alternates will be added to the Final Qualifying Tournament even if a successful Regional Qualifying Stage entrant withdraws.

Notes
The applicants who play in the Qualifying Tournament and any tournaments of the PGA of Japan shall agree to abide by the Tournament Regulations of the PGA of Japan Seniors Tour.
The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the PGA of Japan will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefore, including rejection of the entry.
Caddies are not permitted in the Qualifying Tournament.
During official practice and tournament round days no one except for the tournament staffs and media is allowed to enter the course.
If a player is determined by Tournament Officials on-site at any stage of the Qualifying Tournament to be non competitive, the PGA of Japan reserves the right to remove the said player from the competition.

  1. A player who has the best score on the 18th hole of the 3rd Round is considered as a leader.
  2. A player who has the best score on the 18th hole of the 2nd Round is considered as a leader.
  3. A player who has the best score from the18th hole of the 3rd Round by the count-back method is considered as a leader

36-holes

  1. A player who has the best score on the 18th hole of the 2nd Round is considered as a leader.
  2. A player who has the best score from the 18th hole of the 2nd Round by the count-back method is considered as a leader

18-holes

  1. A player who has the best score from the 18th hole of the round by the count-back method is considered as a leader.
